Founded in 2022, Strombilt exists to build inspiring places through honest work, strong relationships, and the finest craftsmanship.
We believe the building process should be transparent. By removing the typical "black box" of contracting, we aim to give homeowners a clearer view of pricing, decisions, and progress from start to finish.
We also believe in building a company that supports the people behind the work. That means paying skilled workers fairly, creating respectful jobsites, and holding ourselves to a high standard on every job. The same attitude extends to our suppliers and subcontractors: strong relationships with good people help create better projects for everyone involved.
Geoffrey Gillstrom

Geoffrey's background in construction began with formal training in cabinetmaking and grew through hands-on experience in steel framing, interior finishing, estimating, and project management. As a contractor in Toronto, he completed projects for some of Canada's largest institutions, gaining a strong foundation in planning, communication, and attention to detail.
After moving to Cape Breton in 2017, Geoffrey designed and built Cedar Peak, a home that has become one of the highest-rated Airbnb properties in the region. That project helped shape the vision for Strombilt: creating thoughtful, well-crafted places that reflect the people they're built for and the land they're built on.
Friendly, detail-oriented, and deeply invested in the community, Geoffrey has planted roots in Cape Breton and is committed to work that belongs here.
